What is a Rubber Sheet?
A rubber sheet is a flat flexible material used in industrial applications for sealing, insulation, protection, vibration control, surface lining, etc. Rubber sheets are manufactured from the white latex of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis ). These are called natural rubber sheets. General-purpose and abrasion-resistant rubber sheets fall under the category of natural rubber sheets.
Another type is made from synthetic compounds, fillers, and polymers. These types of rubber sheets are called synthetic rubber sheets. Nitrile, Chloroprene, EPDM, and Silicone are synthetic rubber sheets.
Industrial rubber sheets are commonly used as seals, gaskets, O-rings, conveyor covers, liners, insulation barriers and protective surfaces. However, you need to select the right rubber sheeting type depending on operating temperature, chemical exposure, oil resistance requirements, abrasion & impact conditions and load-bearing capacity to increase productivity and ROI. This is why Duratuf brings to you a wide range of 36+ rubber sheets giving you the freedom to choose the ideal option for your industry.

How Heavy Duty Rubber Sheet are Made
Discover the ROTI way of manufacturing:
1. Prep It Up
Get the right mix of ingredients! Polymers, fillers, curing agents, and additives. Just how the right mix of flour, salt, and water forms a perfect dough!
2. Mix and Blend
Similar to how we prepare the dough, the rubber compounds are blended to form a homogeneous blend.
3. Rest and Touch-ups
Post vulcanization, rubber products are allowed to cool down and given final touch via trimming, cutting and/or surface treatments.
4. Shape the Sheet
Shape matters! Both for rotis and rubber products. Based on application, the rubber blend is processed via calendaring or extrusion to form sheets, hoses, and more.
5. Warm It Up
Heat and pressure make fluffy rotis and perfect rubber products in a process called vulcanization.
6. Quality Checks
Quality control measures are implemented throughout the production process to ensure the rubber products meet desired specifications.
The controlled rubber sheet manufacturing process ensures consistent thickness, high tensile strength, and durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right rubber sheet for my industry?
Selection depends on temperature range, chemical exposure, oil resistance, mechanical stress, and environmental conditions. For example, silicone rubber sheets are suitable for high-temperature applications, while natural rubber sheets are ideal for general-purpose lining and flooring. For accurate selection, consult our technical experts before purchase.
Are industrial rubber sheets resistant to oil and chemicals?
Not all rubber sheets are oil- and chemical-resistant. Nitrile (NBR), Fluoroelastomer, and Chloroprene offer varying degrees of oil and chemical resistance. The level of resistance depends on compound formulation and exposure conditions. Always verify compatibility before use.
What thickness options are available for rubber sheets?
Standard rubber sheets are available in 2 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm. Custom thicknesses from 1 mm to 50 mm can be manufactured based on project requirements.
Can rubber sheets be used for outdoor applications?
Yes. EPDM and Chloroprene rubber sheets are suitable for outdoor use due to their resistance to UV radiation, ozone, and weathering. They are commonly used in roofing, marine, and external sealing applications.
Are industrial rubber sheets customizable?
Yes. We offer rubber sheet customizations. As a guideline, we can customize the thickness from 1 mm to 50 mm, the width up to 2.5 m, and the length up to 30 m.
Please check with a Duratuf expert to confirm the exact specifications before ordering.
What is the difference between natural rubber sheets and synthetic rubber sheets?
Natural rubber sheets are made from the extract of the rubber tree. They have good elasticity, tear resistance, and are biodegradable. Synthetic rubber sheets are petroleum-based with enhanced chemical and gas resistance.
How long do industrial rubber sheets last?
The longevity of industrial rubber sheets depends on their quality, applications, work conditions, climate, UV, Ozone, storage conditions, etc. Hence, to know the approximate lifespan of the rubber sheet you choose, talk to us.
Are rubber sheets safe for industrial flooring and insulation?
Yes, industrial rubber sheets are safe for industrial flooring and insulation. Duratuf rubber sheets are certified— CE marking confirms safety compliance, RoHS restricts hazardous substances, and REACH ensures chemical safety.
