ButylShield60 Pro (Bromo): Butyl Rubber Sheet

What is ButylShield60 Pro (Bromo) ?

The ButylShield60 Pro – Bromo is made of brominated Butyl rubber. It is a premium specialty-grade Butyl rubber sheet resistant to enhanced chemical exposure. Each Butyl rubber roll has an optimum thermal stability compared to conventional rubber materials.
These sheets can withstand the effects of concentrated bases-acids, diluted bases-acids, oils, as well as high temperatures.

The bromination process of the ButylShield60 Pro – Bromo improves the rubber’s overall heat resistance, making it a preferred choice in industries such as petrochemical, automotive, and gas processing. The Butyl rubber sheet waterproofing seals and gaskets in these industries have to be durable.

Duratuf Bromobutyl rubber sheets are known for their low gas permeability and excellent weatherability in harsh conditions, also.

Frequently Asked Questions

ButylShield60 Pro – Bromo is used in chemical reactor gaskets, pump housing seals, automotive engine bay insulation, pharmaceutical barrier layers, flame-retardant applications, and protective linings for acid and solvent tanks where sealing integrity and chemical resistance are critical.

It is manufactured using 100% Bromobutyl (BIIR) rubber, engineered for low gas permeability, strong chemical resistance, and enhanced thermal stability.

The sheet has a nominal hardness of 60 ± 5 Shore A (ASTM D2240), providing balanced flexibility and structural strength for industrial sealing applications.

As per ASTM D412 testing, Tensile Strength: Minimum 8.0 MPa (Observed 8.7 MPa)and Elongation at Break: Minimum 350% (Observed 367%). These values ensure durability and flexibility under mechanical and thermal stress.

ButylShield60 Pro – Bromo performs effectively within a wide temperature range of –40°C to +130°C, making it suitable for high-temperature industrial environments.

The sheet provides: Excellent resistance to ozone, Excellent resistance to dilute and concentrated acids & bases. Excellent resistance to oils. Fair resistance to certain chemicals but Not recommended for solvents. This makes it ideal for chemically aggressive environments.

Yes. Bromobutyl rubber offers very low gas and vapor permeability, making it suitable for containment systems and pharmaceutical applications requiring leakage control.
